Wide Awake

I don't see a nap happening anytime soon.

Fun Bath

Addi was pleased to be in the bathtub tonight.
The stucco should be applied anytime now.

Days To Come

Emma refused to leave the gravel pile.

The walls have been textured and I assume ready to paint.

I sit here recently discovering why math geeks make so much freakin’ money. I am not a math geek and will NEVER qualify as a math geek. I am more like a math loser.

I sit here fearing my whole push towards a college degree drifts in the breeze because of TRIGONOMETRY. My brain doesn’t see Trigonometry as the “geeks” see it. My brain sees confusion, bewilderment and panic while “they” see “Oh yeah, what idiot wouldn’t get this?”

I sit here realizing most degrees with a chance of making decent money require higher math. It makes total sense but that realization quickly pisses me right off when I see a certain “class” remaining on my schedule.

I know everybody has their horror story of a dreaded class, professor or both. Everybody recalls the time when they had to spend an additional lifetime on ONE subject.

Look, college (for most of us) is not easy. I know and appreciate that. I’m also waiting for universities across the nation to amend their math requirements. Maybe I should start a petition.

Breakfast Chow

I had the camera handy so I clicked a couple.

...care for a freshly picked strawberry from Emma's fingers?

Deal Maker

Emma wanted to hang with me but I had to cut the grass. A happy median was achieved.

We Have Drywall

Britt and I were surprised to discover they were already mudding the walls. Our house will more than likely be completed in TWO MONTHS. Holy crappers.

The Daily Mess

...think Emma had a theme today?

Book On The Face

Emma has her own fashion statement.

Saturday, May 17, 2008

Emma thought Addi needed a reminder of how to use a binky.

More Like A House

The house now has a finished roof and windows.

Kid's Bathroom

Emma decided to try out the tub a little early.

The slightest holes in the floor caused Emma to crawl for security.

Getting There

Britt was checking out her half-bath and laundry area today.

The Wife Is Back

It's always nice when Britt is back in town. The home is always a better place for kids with two parents. Emma doesn't doesn't whine as much and Addi is noticeably happier.

The girls slept through the morning without a hint of discomfort. This was clutch after Britt's long day of traveling but figures after previous nights of getting up a combined total of 18 (+-1.5) times. This is probably the only time I wish the kids were older. I'll think differently after a nap or a 40 oz bottle of caffeine...or both.

Yeah Baby

Emma walks around the house like a bad#&% with her sunglasses on.

All Cleaned Up After Lunch

Car Seat Comfort

I-R-R-I-T-A-T-E What does that spell?

Emma was either teaching Addi how to cheer or trying to bug the crap out of her.

It's time to bust out the 4th season of Married With Children tonight.

The buses run on what he was drinking while making this sign...whiskey.

Work Alone

Nick Part 3

Nick told me yesterday he will probably be on the varsity regional team. I couldn't imagine why he's not a varsity player next year.

5/14/2008 -- Sparked by Nick Beavin's home run, the JV Baseball team exploded for 7 runs in the 6th inning to defeat Male 13-4 yesterday. Beavin was 2-for-4 with 4 RBI's on the day, while Cody Scheler was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI's. Matt Miller and Matt Spalding combined for the win on the mound. The JV team improves to 21-4 on the year and will play at DeSales at 5:00 on Thursday.

Britt HATES this show but I've liked it since my early 20's. There are certain shows you don't take seriously.

The boots go everywhere and with everything.
Today marks the beginning of the summer semester. I am tackling 16 hours at Weber and SLCC.

Britt is in Ohio this week for business.

Addi discovered there was a stranger looking back at her.

Teeth Rot

Our best friends from Kentucky bought a house 4 minutes from where we are building. They are still two weeks from moving here so I've been checking on some house projects (new fence, etc.) for them. I discovered some brownies at their front door...don't mind if I do.

They gave me permission to eat the brownies...of course. I would never...

It's taken me 17 years to become a college senior.

Thursday, May 8, 2008

It always works well when Addi naps. Everybody is in a better mood...well Emma is still working on that part.
This marks the first time Addi didn't freak out in the bouncer. Emma was irritated about sharing her toys and promptly made Addi cry.

Rolling Along

We have a roof. Let's move in tomorrow.

Round 3

Another night of getting Emma to bed has arrived. It’s been about 20 minutes since I said goodnight and walked out of the room. Tonight she has been making the “snoring” sound effect but I’m waiting for the clanking sound of toys. It’s just a matter of time.
Yummy strap...

Nick Part 2

My nephew was called up to varsity and had an excellent game while defeating my old high school. Eastern was probably ranked in the top 50 when I played for them...nothing extraordinary.

5/7/2008 -- Despite a depleted lineup void of its senior who were attending the MOM's mass, the varsity team came from behind to defeat highly ranked Eastern 8 to 7 Tuesday night at Tiger Park. Sophomore Nick Beavin started the Tigers out strong with a key 2 RBI, 2 out hit to give the Tigers a 3 to 1 1st inning lead. After falling behind 7-4, the Tigers clawed back and got to within 7-6 on Brent Sweeney's bases loaded single, After tieing the game on a wild pitch, Nate Grayson's single put the Tigers ahead to stay 8-7 in the single. Zach Settembre, Joey Golemboski, and Sweeney combined on the mound to hold off the powerful Eagles. Derek Ferch and freshman Matt Spalding made key plays for the Tigers on defense. The Tigers will host Christian Academy at 7:30 PM Thursday night.

I have put Emma back in bed 4 times already and I just heard a thump on the floor............!

Good Times

It’s that time again. Britt is out of town.

This means Emma will get out of bed 12 times, Addi will wake in a hyper mood at midnight and I will find myself thinking of when I didn’t have kids.

Brush Those Teeth

Emma likes to brush her teeth. How effective it is at this stage is a different story.

My nephew is keeping the baseball name in the family. Here are a few clips from his high school's website:

4/30/2008 -- The JV Baseball team exploded for 8 runs in the 4th inning last night as they cruised to a 10-0 victory over New Albany last night. Matt Spalding hit a grand slam and Nick Beavin had two hits during the 4th-inning outburst. Kyle Rizenbergs and Alex Smith combined to pitch the shutout on the mound. The JV team improves to 16-2 on the year and will face Floyd Central here at 5:00 PM tomorrow.

4/29/2008 -- The JV Baseball team beat Butler last night 2-0 behind the strong pitching of Aaron Remmers and Brett Schmeing. Nick Beavin and Matt Spalding each had RBI singles in the 5th inning for the only runs of the game. The JV team improves to 15-2 on the year and will play at New Albany tonight at 7:15 PM.

4/22/2008 -- The JV Baseball team used a 6-run rally in the 5th inning to defeat Providence 8-5 last night. Aaron Remmers earned the win on the mound while Brett Schemeing earned a save to close the game. Nick Beavin continued his hot hitting with a triple, a single, and 2 runs scored. With the victory, the JV team improved its record to 11-2 and will take on Butler here at 5:00 PM today.

Nick will probably be called up to varsity soon.
