Math
I sit here recently discovering why math geeks make so much freakin’ money. I am not a math geek and will NEVER qualify as a math geek. I am more like a math loser.
I sit here fearing my whole push towards a college degree drifts in the breeze because of TRIGONOMETRY. My brain doesn’t see Trigonometry as the “geeks” see it. My brain sees confusion, bewilderment and panic while “they” see “Oh yeah, what idiot wouldn’t get this?”
I sit here realizing most degrees with a chance of making decent money require higher math. It makes total sense but that realization quickly pisses me right off when I see a certain “class” remaining on my schedule.
I know everybody has their horror story of a dreaded class, professor or both. Everybody recalls the time when they had to spend an additional lifetime on ONE subject.
Look, college (for most of us) is not easy. I know and appreciate that. I’m also waiting for universities across the nation to amend their math requirements. Maybe I should start a petition.

The Wife Is Back
It's always nice when Britt is back in town. The home is always a better place for kids with two parents. Emma doesn't doesn't whine as much and Addi is noticeably happier.
The girls slept through the morning without a hint of discomfort. This was clutch after Britt's long day of traveling but figures after previous nights of getting up a combined total of 18 (+-1.5) times. This is probably the only time I wish the kids were older. I'll think differently after a nap or a 40 oz bottle of caffeine...or both.

Nick Part 3
Nick told me yesterday he will probably be on the varsity regional team. I couldn't imagine why he's not a varsity player next year.
5/14/2008 -- Sparked by Nick Beavin's home run, the JV Baseball team exploded for 7 runs in the 6th inning to defeat Male 13-4 yesterday. Beavin was 2-for-4 with 4 RBI's on the day, while Cody Scheler was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI's. Matt Miller and Matt Spalding combined for the win on the mound. The JV team improves to 21-4 on the year and will play at DeSales at 5:00 on Thursday.

Round 3
Another night of getting Emma to bed has arrived. It’s been about 20 minutes since I said goodnight and walked out of the room. Tonight she has been making the “snoring” sound effect but I’m waiting for the clanking sound of toys. It’s just a matter of time.
Nick Part 2
My nephew was called up to varsity and had an excellent game while defeating my old high school. Eastern was probably ranked in the top 50 when I played for them...nothing extraordinary.
5/7/2008 -- Despite a depleted lineup void of its senior who were attending the MOM's mass, the varsity team came from behind to defeat highly ranked Eastern 8 to 7 Tuesday night at Tiger Park. Sophomore Nick Beavin started the Tigers out strong with a key 2 RBI, 2 out hit to give the Tigers a 3 to 1 1st inning lead. After falling behind 7-4, the Tigers clawed back and got to within 7-6 on Brent Sweeney's bases loaded single, After tieing the game on a wild pitch, Nate Grayson's single put the Tigers ahead to stay 8-7 in the single. Zach Settembre, Joey Golemboski, and Sweeney combined on the mound to hold off the powerful Eagles. Derek Ferch and freshman Matt Spalding made key plays for the Tigers on defense. The Tigers will host Christian Academy at 7:30 PM Thursday night.

Good Times
It’s that time again. Britt is out of town.
This means Emma will get out of bed 12 times, Addi will wake in a hyper mood at midnight and I will find myself thinking of when I didn’t have kids.
